Bright Idea Insurance Solutions, Inc. (“BIIS”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Commerce Insurance Company, one of a number of affiliated insurance companies owned, directly or indirectly, by MAPFRE U.S.A. Corp. (collectively, “MAPFRE”). BIIS is authorized to solicit, produce, and place insurance in California for insurance companies, including MAPFRE affiliates, from which it has received appointments.
There are a number of ways in which BIIS and licensed producers affiliated with BIIS (collectively, “Agency”) may be compensated: 1] Commissions, usually defined as a percentage of the premium charged by the insurer, are paid to the Agency as compensation for producing and servicing insurance products or policies. Commissions are included in the premium amount associated with the policy; 2] In certain circumstances the Agency may receive contingent compensation from an insurance company. Generally, contingent compensation is paid only after the Agency has met certain overall performance criteria or thresholds for an insurance company which is usually assessed annually; 3]
Occasionally, the Agency may also be paid compensation such as a minimum fee and/or may enter into compensation sharing arrangements or other marketing arrangements. Such arrangements are typically in place so that the Agency can offer a prospective insured additional insurance and service options through various affiliates of BIIS and unaffiliated third parties including insurance companies and agencies that place insurance business and other services on behalf of BIIS; 4] Individual producers may also receive a base salary, and may qualify for other incentives for placing insurance with insurance companies. Incentives may be in the form of cash or non-cash awards paid directly to the producer for meeting certain performance criteria.
BIIS values your feedback regarding compliance with this compensation disclosure, or to discuss placement of your insurance. For further inquiries you may contact us at info@getbrightidea.com.
A quote is an estimate of what you will pay for an insurance policy on your vehicle. In order to provide you with an accurate quote, we rely on you to provide accurate information. We will determine your actual premium amount, including applicable discounts, and eligibility for coverage once you have completed an insurance application. We may, to the extent allowed by law, verify the information you have provided through third-party providers, including providers of information relating to your driving history. As a result, the amount we have quoted for insurance coverage may change.
When you submit information via this website, you are requesting information and action on behalf of the company or its agents. No insurance coverage will be bound until you have submitted and we have accepted an application for insurance. Our price estimates are based on the most commonly requested coverage options. Other options may be available or be in your best interest. If you would like to receive a quote for limits and coverage options not shown, please call your independent agent.
